Job description:
Develop & deliver rigging training and continual assessments for all rigging activities across site.
Key Responsibilities:
- Training & assessment in rigging.
- Training and assessments on operating overhead cranes and scaffolding.
- Verification of Competence of all employees / contractors mobilising to site to conduct/perform rigging and scaffolding functions.
- Training record keeping/control on the approved Training Management System (INX – InTuition).
- Updating of all training activities and documents in the approved Training Management System (INX – InTuition).
- Develop Training plans and manage objectives/performance.
- Auditing all Departments’ Rigging/Load Shifting Compliance i.e. record keeping, maintenance of rigging equipment etc.
- Assist end-users to identify rigging related gaps and help close out the gaps.
- Conduct training needs analyses and deliver training to bridge gaps in employees’ skills and knowledge.
- Plan, develop and implement courses to meet the training needs of trainees in rigging, overhead crane operating and scaffolding.
- Ensure that company procedures and safety regulations are re-enforced in order to minimise accidents and optimise production.
- Maintain effective communication with clients to establish training needs and report on training progress.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of training through on-site deliberate planned observations and coaching where necessary.
- Any other duties as may be reasonably requested of by the supervisor in line with effective operations of the Training Department.
Qualifications/Skills:
- Minimum of a Grade 12 certificate
- Diploma in Rigging from a recognised institution
- Teaching methodology
- MS Office Suite – Excel, PPT, Word
- Facilitation / Presentation / Coaching skills (advantageous)
Experience:
- 5 years rigging experience preferably in the Mining environment
- 5 years plus in Training and Assessing in Resources Industry
