Lusaka Child Development Agency (LKCDA) is a local organization affiliated to ChildFund Zambia. Operating in Lusaka District, LKCDA is a child and youth-centered, non-profit making development organization with the mission to support the well-being of children by implementing locally led initiatives that strengthen families and communities to have the capacity that contribute to overcoming deprivation, exclusion, and vulnerability while ensuring the protection of children’s rights.
SUMMARY
The M&E Officer will be reporting to the Manager. He/She will monitor and evaluate all program activities that LKCDA implements in its operational areas. The job holder will also support the development and formulation of monitoring and evaluation framework tools and instruments. He/She will support the roll-out, adaptation, and utilization of the LKCDA M&E monitoring system (CAMEL) in all communities within the operational areas.
SPECIFIC DUTIES
- Remain alert and responsive to any child safeguarding risks, acquire relevant knowledge and skills that will enable you to promote strong safeguarding practices, understand the child safeguarding policy and procedures, and conduct yourself in a manner consistent with the Child Safeguarding Policy.
- Undertake effective monitoring and evaluation of the program activities to assess performance, compliance with standards and quality of delivery through field visits to project sites.
- Develop monitoring and evaluation tools, plans, and systems to facilitate the implementation of appropriate activities.
- Provide technical assistance and training to staff and partners on monitoring and evaluation methodologies and tools.
- Support the development and implementation of quality improvement strategies to enhance quality program delivery of activities in all operational areas.
- Assist in producing and disseminating M&E reports on the progress of program activities or strategy implementation.
- Assist in conducting M&E surveys, assessments, and other baseline information generation processes.
- Participate in project planning, design, and evaluation processes to ensure M&E considerations are integrated throughout the project cycle.
MINIMUM EDUCATION QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCIES
- Bachelor’s degree in related field such as Monitoring and Evaluation, Statistics, Community Development, or a related field.
- More than 2 years of experience in development work
- Knowledge and Experience in Results Based Management (RBM) is an asset.
- Proven experience in monitoring and evaluation, preferably in the development sector.
- Strong quantitative and qualitative data analysis skills.
- Computer proficiency in general office software applications (i.e., Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Proficiency in M&E software and tools.
- Excellent people skills, commitment to work and history of adherence to organizational policies and procedures.
- Excellent communication, writing and presentation skills; solid field experience within community development is required.
