Main Purpose

  • Build effective relationships with large scale commercial  farms to maximize Bayer CP and Seed business by increasing customer satisfaction and loyalty
  • Build Bayer value propositions at commercial farm level and advise growers on Bayer solutions

Key Tasks & Responsibilities 

  • Deliver the mission for commercial farmers together with the commercial customer facing squad
  • Manage the P&L for the large scale commercial wheat and corn business with the customer-facing team
  • Ensure that the regional 90-day sales goals including budget are achieved
  • Deliver accurate CP and corn seed forecasts with the squad to assure product availability
  • Manage the relationship with key large scale commercial farms and assure order generation via distribution partners to grow Bayer share-of-wallet on farm
  • Run VP demos to showcase Bayer solutions  and offer trainings as per seasonality on CP and Seed to the commercial farmers
  • Engage and partner with other solution providers e.g. nutrition , equipment to ensure farmers satisfaction.

  • Develop annual sales and campaign support plan for target accounts.
  • Evaluate opportunities for value adding offers  and new business models to defend and grow the wheat /corn large scale commercial business
  • Identify new business opportunities and develop strategies to capture them.
  • Keep track of competitors activities and market changes and share across supporting units
  • Evaluate and advise on digital platforms introduction into the commercial farmers space.

Qualifications & Competencies 

  • Degree in Agriculture and/or Agri-business
  • Four (4) to Six (6) years of relevant experience in crop agronomy and pest control practices – ideally with strong experience in wheat and corn
  • Extensive sales experience in Crop Protection products with management of key customer relationships and advice on crop agronomy.
  • Extensive agricultural knowledge and understanding of commercial estates
  • Excellent relationships with commercial farmers  will be an added advantage
  • Demonstrate Bayer core competencies: Customer Focus, Drives Results, Values Differences, Manages Complexity, Collaboration, and Instills Trust.
  • Ability to manage large accounts independently and coordinate support resources
  • Ability to collaborate/communicate with and develop internal and external partnerships.
  • Good Microsoft Skills (Excel / PowerPoint / Word) a prerequisite.
  • Highly motivated, creative, dynamic, and well organized
