Deloitte East Africa currently has an exciting opportunity for a dynamic person to join our Finance team as a Finance Manager in Zambia. The holder of this position will be responsible for maintaining up-to-date accounting records and managing key stakeholders in the Zambia member firm. Ensure the ledger accurately reflects the position of the firm through responsibility of closing the accounting records, responsibility for general ledger reconciliations; ensure tax compliance on indirect and direct taxes, responsible for liaisons with the revenue authorities, oversight of statutory and tax audits, ensures accounting policies, standards and procedures are adhered to. The role holder will work closely in liaison with Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and Treasury teams to ensure smooth delivery of all Finance tasks in Zambia office.

Main Purpose of Job

Qualifications

Required

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Business/Commerce/Finance.
  • Minimum seven years’ experience in Accounting/ Finance.
  • Professional accounting qualification (CA/CPA/ACCA).
  • Experience with SAP EPR (added advantage)

Key Responsibilities

  • Updates the General Ledger and processes journals at month-end
  • Prepares monthly balance sheet reconciliations
  • Manages tax compliance ensuring accurate/timely direct and indirect tax payments and filings
  • Coordinates audits conducted by local tax and other statutory legislative authorities
  • Assists in preparation of supporting documentation for external and internal audits
  • Preparation of statutory financial statements
  • Approval of purchase requisitions/purchase orders in SAP
  • Approval of payment runs to ensure timely payment of suppliers
  • Maintain relationships with banks, Tax Authority and other governmental authorities.
  • Provision of financial information to banks and other mandated regulatory authorities.
  • Partnering with East Africa Finance members to ensure smooth delivery of Accounts Payable,  Receivables and Treasury tasks in Zambia.
  • Liaison with Business Partner team to ensure smooth delivery of the annual budget and forecasts.
