Job Description:

Nexus Zambia is seeking an innovative and analytical Data Scientist to analyze large datasets and derive actionable insights in Lusaka. The Data Scientist will be responsible for developing models, algorithms, and data-driven solutions to enhance business decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:

• Analyze large datasets to identify trends and patterns.
• Develop and implement predictive models and algorithms.
• Conduct data cleaning, preprocessing, and transformation.
• Visualize data and present findings to stakeholders.
• Collaborate with teams to understand business requirements and provide data-driven solutions.
• Stay updated with the latest data science techniques and tools.
• Prepare and maintain technical documentation and reports.

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a Data Scientist or in a similar role.
• In-depth knowledge of data science principles and practices.
• Proficiency in programming languages (e.g., Python, R) and data analysis tools (e.g., SQL, Hadoop).

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.

Skills:

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and organizational abilities.
• Attention to detail and creativity.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

Experience:

• At least 3-5 years of experience in data science.
