Assistant Accountant – Receivables

JOB PURPOSE

  • The Assistant accountant receivables is responsible for overseeing all Credit related processes, Payables related Processes and Administrative functions.
  • Responsible for providing financial and accounting services in order to ensure effective, efficient and accurate financial aid in line with established policies and procedures. (Client side)
  • To aid the maintenance of records and proper accounting for activities carried out in relation to property management and Project development which culminates into production of financial statements at regular intervals.

MAIN DUTIES;

  • Ensuring Invoices raised are ZRA compliant and are availed to the tenant(s)/ Client(s) within stipulated timelines across all portfolios.
  • Ensuring timely and correct reconciliations of tenant/client accounts.
  • Timely Creating and Updating of client accounts or statements.
  • Engaging clients with outstanding amounts and ensuring settlement while maintaining professionalism and a good relationship in line with the debtor’s policy.
  • For problematic clients. engaging an external debt management team/ Company and managing them to ensure their operations are in harmony with the organization’s principles.
  • Able to draft Management Information Packs. (M.I.P Reports)
  • Ensure supplier accounts are settled within stipulated timelines.
  • Ensure all supplier queries and disputes are resolved timely. This includes reconciliations to ensure the correct outstanding amount is determined for settlement.
  • Petty cash management for both client and company accounts
  • Reviewing arrears & negotiating settlements with clients and enforcing strict adherence.
  • Assist with both internal and external audits.
  • Ensure demand notices, Eviction Letters, and reminders are drafted timely.
  • Ensure Administrative needs of the company are met.

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS & FUNCTIONAL / TECHNICAL SKILLS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • ZICA CA II, ACCA II, or CIMA II minimum Professional qualification

RELEVANT EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum of 3 years of professional work experience in a similar capacity.
