Job Purpose

The Counter Sales Assistant – Auto Spare Parts will attend to walk-in Customers and Sale and Market over the Counter Auto parts and Tyres based the needs of the Customers. Work with Service Technicians and Advisors to coordinate parts for vehicle repair and service. Maintain clean and professional appearance of counter, work area, and stockroom. Assist the Stores Officer with inventory, maintain accurate records of received goods.

Summary of Key Responsibilities:

  • Sell auto spares and tyres overt the counter to walk in customers
  • Maintain parts in appropriate storage areas
  • Read and understand the parts catalog when looking up and speaking to specific parts;
  • Pull/fill orders from stock and maintain weekly bin checks to ensure accuracy of stock
  • Make sure all internal requests for parts are billed on service repair order
  • Provide high level service to both internal and external customers
  • Answer phone calls, provide price quotes and other information to customers
  • Converse effectively/efficiently regarding customer parts status
  • Receive payment from retail customers or obtains credit authorization;
  • Review body shop estimates to verify the parts ordered are correct and all pricing is in line with the estimate.
  • Notify Parts Manager of out-of-stock parts or shop materials that need immediate attention;
  • Working with the Stores Officer to locate out-of-stock parts from outside source and submit an emergency order, if necessary.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Full Grade Twelve Certificate
  • Diploma or an Advanced Certificate in Sales and Marketing or and other Business/Commercial related field
  • Must have at least 2-3 years Counter Sales of Auto Spare Parts
  • Basic knowledge of POS/Cashiering will be a plus
  • Proven ability of been a confident communicator
  • Must be a Team Player
  • Ability to read/interpret safety and maintenance documents.
  • Must have a positive and hardworking personality.
