Job description:

Overall Job Purpose

Provide support for the operation of the main equipment in the mine, performing tasks of movements of electrical equipment, installation and modification of power lines of equipment loading and Drilling in addition to the operation of equipment and other services in the mine required by the operation.  Maintain safe and adequate conditions in your equipment and work area

Specific Job Responsibility

  • Supervise and oversee all mining developments and production operations in compliance with mining regulations, explosions regulations and safety standards.
  • Report the occurrence of any work incident to your Supervisor immediately
  • Ensure the daily plan is executed (timeously and to standard).
  • Ensure achievement of all KPI’s. (loading time, spotting time, cycle time, trolley utilization, hanging time, payload compliance, travel speed etc.)
  • Ensure that the tires are running on good supported haul roads surfaces to minimize wear and tear.
  • Meet set development and production targets in line with company budgets.
  • Ensure effective allocation and utilization of manpower and equipment.
  • Enforce discipline among employees for industrial harmony and maximum production output.
  • Oversee all the mining loading unit and dozer processes and operations.
  • Ensure effective contribution to team performance and overall achievement of production targets.
  • Ensure all controls are in place at all equipment for compliance to plan and operational standards.
  • Any other tasks as may be delegated upon by the Coordinator

Job Specific Competencies

  • Trident FQML is a remote site. This exciting position is based on-site and will be focusing on driving and delivering operational accountability and ownership across various units at Trident FQML site. Rosters and working hours may vary depending on business requirements.
  • Comply with current environmental regulations in Zambia
  • Comply with the commitments contained in the Environmental Impact Studies and other additional studies in this regard, which apply to your area and activities.
  • Comply with the provisions of the Trident FQML Environmental Management System.

Experience required to perform in this job

  • 2 years of operational experience
  • Extensive knowledge of mining and processing operations
  • Strong leadership, communication, planning, problem solving, decision making, organizational and interpersonal skills required.
  • Ability to resolve day-to-day challenges regarding equipment, materials, methods and procedures needed to complete projects.
  • Ability to develop and maintain awareness of occupational hazards and safety precautions.

Qualifications

  • Full Grade 12 Certificate.
  • Bachelor’s degree in mining engineering or related field
  • Valid blasting license
  • First Aid Certificate
  • Additional certifications or licenses appropriate to the job may be required.
  • Valid Zambian driver’s license
