Job description:

Overall, Job Purpose:

The position of the truck driver is to maximize efficiency when doing preparations for shutdowns and planned tasks by ensuring that the needed equipment/spares are transported to site to ensure there is no delays when starting tasks. Reporting directly to the Mechanical Supervisor, the position shall be responsible for providing the highest quality services and that all services provided are performed within a safe and timely manner. The position will also be responsible for the safe loading / securing and transportation of delicate / heavy loads and within the load capacity of the truck.

Specific Job Responsibilities:

The specific tasks to be performed by the position holder will include.

• Ensure safe loading of materials onto truck.
• Ensuring that the Operating Permit is valid.
• Ensuring a thorough pre-start Inspection is done and the pre-start check-list is completed and submitted.
• Be a self-starter and able to work autonomously and as part of a team.
• Demonstrate a commitment to workplace safety and the safety of others.
• Be accurate, methodical, and practical when performing your duties.
• Follow all procedures set by the company.
• Enforce Compliance to the correct loading and securing of loads loaded onto the truck.
• Ensure compliance with Safety and Environmental Management systems, policies and procedures along with ensuring that all risks have been identified, managed and safe working environment is maintained.
• Enforce good housekeeping practices are maintained by enforcing cleaning up before, during and after every task and not leaving any hazards within the workplace.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Experience required to perform in this job:

• A minimum of 3 years driving experience on the same or similar machine.

Qualifications:

• A minimum of Grade Twelve Certificate.
• A minimum of Class C Zambian Driver License or its equivalent. Higher education attainment will be an added advantage.
