Share Vision Network is a newly formed NGO dedicated to promoting human rights, sustainable development, and social justice across Africa and specifically Zambia. Our mission is to [brief mission statement].
Position Overview: Share Vision Network is seeking a motivated and experienced Media Advocacy Coordinator to join our team. The Media Advocacy Coordinator will be responsible for developing and implementing strategic media campaigns to raise awareness about our initiatives, influence public opinion, and advocate for policy change in alignment with our mission.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement comprehensive media strategies to promote Share Vision Network’s mission and programs.
Cultivate and maintain relationships with journalists, media outlets, influencers, and stakeholders to ensure effective media coverage.
Write press releases, media advisories, op-eds, and other materials to effectively communicate organizational messages.
Monitor media coverage and trends related to human rights, development issues, and other relevant topics.
Organize press conferences, media briefings, and other media events as needed.
Train staff and partners on media relations and advocacy techniques.
Collaborate with internal teams to integrate media advocacy into overall advocacy and communication strategies.
Track and analyze the impact of media campaigns and adjust strategies as necessary.
Qualifications:
Diploma, Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, International Relations, or a related field.
Minimum of 2 years of experience in media relations, advocacy, or communications, preferably in the NGO sector.
Strong understanding of media landscape, including digital media platforms and social media trends.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in [languages required].
Proven ability to develop and execute media strategies that achieve measurable results.
Ability to work effectively in a multicultural and diverse team environment.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Passion for human rights, social justice, and international development.
