EXAMINER – CONSUMER COMPLIANCE AND MARKET MONITORING (2 POSTS)
GRADE: BoZM5
Job Purpose
Ensure compliance with the Consumer Protection and Market Conduct (CPMC) provisions of the Banking and Financial Services Act in order to promote market efficiency and fairness in consumer financial services and products.
Main Accountabilities
- Undertake investigations and assessment of Financial Service Providers’ (FSPs) conduct to limit unfair and anti-competitive practices and enhance consumer welfare.
- Monitor and investigate consumer complaints against financial service providers.
- Monitor advertising practices of FSPs to ensure adherence to responsible lending and fair marketing and sales practices.
- Assess financial products services to ensure that they comply with consumer protection and market conduct standards.
- Review FSP’s data on customer complaints in order to inform development of specific interventions for identified most recurrent CPMC breaches.
- Prepare recommendations to enhance compliance with consumer protection and market conduct standards.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Economics; Social Sciences; Law or equivalent
- Grade 12 School Certificate with five (5) ‘O’ Levels (credit or better)
- Three (3) years’ relevant experience
