Our client in the hospitality industry is looking for a Lodge manager to join their team.
Responsibilities
- Overseeing personnel, including receptionists, kitchen staff, and office employees.
- Monitoring employee performance and conducting regular evaluations to help improve customer service.
- Collecting payments and maintaining records of budgets, funds, and expenses.
- Welcoming and registering guests once they arrive.
- Resolving issues regarding hotel services, amenities, and policies.
- Organizing activities and assigning responsibilities to employees to ensure productivity.
- Creating and applying a marketing strategy to promote the hotel’s services and amenities.
- Coordinating with external parties, including suppliers, travel agencies, and conference planners.
- Evaluating hotel performance and ensuring compliance with health and safety rules.
- Partaking in financial activities, including establishing room rates, setting budgets, and assigning funds to departments.
Key Skills
- Excellent administrative skills and previous experience on “ResRequest” booking system is preferable.
- Fit and healthy as an active and “hands on”approach is required.
- Superb attention to detail.
- Proven organisational and communication skills imperative.
- Strong leadership and team management skills to oversee staff in a remote location.
- Knowledge of wildlife and the environment to enhance guest experiences and safety.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for guest interactions and staff coordination.
- Proficiency in handling logistics, such as supply management, maintenance, and safety protocols.
- Problem-solving abilities to address challenges that may arise in a remote setting.
- Customer service expertise to ensure guests have a memorable and enjoyable stay.
- Adaptability and resourcefulness in dealing with the unique challenges of a bushcamp environment.
- A passion for nature, conservation, and sustainable tourism practices is often highly valued.

Qualifications
- Any relevant certifications in hospitality, wildlife management, or related fields would be advantageous.
- Previous experience in hospitality or lodge management, preferably in remote or wilderness settings.
