Job Overview
Key Responsibilities
- Support Execution of HSSE Policies
- Support the creation of distinct and actionable behavioral change strategies that are appropriate for EEA employees, contractors and third parties, with a view to reducing HSSE incidents and other issues that may affect public and employee health, safety, security and the environment within which EEA operates.
- Remain alert to emerging issues and global trends that might benefit or otherwise impact individual, and teams work to ensure a safe working environment for all team members and third parties connected with our business.
Reporting and Incident Follow Up
- Gather high-quality data from all departments to create robust health and safety metrics for reporting.
- When incidents occur, participate in timely incident investigations and response plans to reduce the likelihood of future occurrences.
- Create platforms for employees to report safety incidents confidentially and without fear of reprisal.
- Support Emergency and Crisis Response and Communication
- Implement and maintain emergency response plans, identify possible emergency scenarios and conduct drill exercises.
- Respond immediately to HSSE incidents / accidents ensuring risk mitigation strategies are implemented in a timely manner.
- Collect and analyze security related information from local and regional resources.
- Go to the field to investigate HSSE incidents and other public safety concerns within the location/area.
- Craft detailed summaries of events as required for ENGIE HSSE compliance
- Perform any other tasks assigned to support HSSE goals in the business
Preferred skills
- Construction safety experience is an added advantage
- Ability to communicate fluently in English and working knowledge of any of the major local languages is desirable
- Must be a team player who also works well independently
Required qualifications
- High school certificate or equivalent.
- Bachelor’s degree in health and safety or any related field.
- Minimum of 2 years’ work experience added advantage
