Business Analyst job opportunity
As a University Business Analyst, you will play a pivotal role in enhancing operational efficiency and strategic decision-making processes within the institution. Your primary responsibilities will include identifying, collecting, analyzing, storing, and presenting operational data and reports to inform resource utilization and mobilization decision-making processes. Additionally, you will collaborate closely with the IT department to utilize the university’s database effectively. Your role will involve evaluating current university processes, identifying areas for improvement, and recommending operational, tactical and strategic solutions to overcome organizational challenges.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Collect and analyze operational data to identify utilization of resources and overall efficiency of the business related to, among others,
Classroom and lab utilization
Student population, including new enrollment, attrition, graduation, and re-enrollment
Lecturer utilization.
Assist in ensuring the integrity of data in the institution’s various databases.
Serve as a liaison between the University’s operations and IT departments to enable the smooth operation of the University’s data networks, and databases.
Assist in tracking student attendance access, student profile maintenance and grading.
Assist in compiling weekly KPI reports on university operations.
Provide support to the Marketing & Enrollment department by analyzing the effectiveness of marketing campaigns and performing regular industry benchmarking.
Assist Deans and Program Coordinators in analyzing the financial and business performances of their faculties and creating the necessary analysis tools to enhance their capabilities in these areas.
Qualifications, Experience and Competencies
Bachelor of Business Administration, Public Administration, IT, Computer Programming, or similar from a reputable University (Masters will be an added advantage).
5 years minimum of work experience involving business analytics.
Demonstrated expertise in basic database languages, particularly SQL.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets and generate actionable insights.
Excellent Microsoft Excel skills.
Excellent report-writing skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint for creating compelling presentations.
Detail-oriented mindset with a proactive approach to problem-solving and decision-making.
Ability to work in an entrepreneurial environment with limited supervision.
Strong communication skills.
Additional Duties:
Perform any other related duties as assigned by university leadership or departmental heads.
